They met in their senior year of high school, became instant friends, and roomed together at <strong>Baylor University<\/strong>, where Sandy earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and met the love of her life, David.<\/p>\r\n        <div class=\"ph-quote-block\">\r\n          <p class=\"ph-quote-text\">They traveled together, took annual beach trips \u2014 they were college roommates. They were family.<\/p>\r\n          <span class=\"ph-quote-attr\">\u2014 On Sandy &amp; Rexanna's friendship<\/span>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n        <p class=\"ph-body\">Sandy served as <strong>Vice President of Rexanna's Foundation<\/strong> from its founding until she passed away in January 2023. She was a tireless advocate \u2014 traveling alongside Executive Director Lisa Spain to LungCAN conferences, learning the latest in research, and building national collaborations that would give Rexanna's Foundation a platform far beyond Austin.<\/p>\r\n        <p class=\"ph-body\">In every room she entered, Sandy made every acquaintance feel like her best friend. She spread laughter and light, carried a resolute faith, and brought an affinity for the biggest and brightest of everything \u2014 clothing, jewelry, d\u00e9cor, and life itself.
